# Order Trust Column

TrustLens integrates directly into the WooCommerce orders list by adding a Trust column. Every order shows the customer's segment badge inline with the other order data, sortable and filterable by segment. This means moderation context is visible *everywhere* you already work with orders — no need to context-switch to a separate page to see who's behind an order.

---

## What the Column Shows

For each order in the WooCommerce orders list, right after the order number:

- The customer's segment badge (color-coded; Normal, Trusted and VIP badges are slightly faded so Caution, Risk and Critical stand out)
- Click-through to the TrustLens customer detail page — hover the badge for the segment name
- A "Verify" or "Flagged" mark when a Pro automation rule ran Require Verification or Flag for Review on the order (hover for the rule name)

The column shows the segment, not the numeric score — open the order or the profile for the score. The values are read from the customer's record at the time of page load — so they reflect the customer's *current* segment, not the segment at the time the order was placed.

---

## Sorting and Filtering

The Trust column header is clickable to sort orders by segment severity — Critical, Risk, Caution, Normal, Trusted, VIP, or the reverse. The orders list filter bar adds an "All trust segments" dropdown to show only orders from one segment (VIP, Trusted, Normal, Caution, Risk or Critical).

Sorting and filtering match orders to customers through an email hash TrustLens stores on each order when it's placed through checkout (existing orders are backfilled once after activation). Orders created another way — for example in the admin — still show their badge but may not be picked up by the segment filter.

Common workflow patterns enabled by sort/filter:

- **Daily moderation:** Filter to Critical (then Risk) orders, sort by date desc, review one by one
- **VIP fast-track:** Filter to VIP orders, ensure fulfillment is prioritized
- **Risk cohort fulfillment hold:** Filter to Risk orders, bulk update status to On Hold pending review

---

## The Order Edit Page

Open any order in the WooCommerce admin. In the sidebar, TrustLens adds a **Customer Trust** meta box showing:

- The customer's current segment badge and trust score (out of 100, with a bar)
- Their order count, returns and return rate
- "Review this order carefully." for Risk and Critical customers
- A "View full profile" link to the customer detail page
- Pro: a link to the Dispute Evidence Report, and a Store Trust Network line when that's active

It reads "No trust data available for this customer." when the billing email has no TrustLens record. Block, allowlist and recalculate are on the customer profile, one click away. This is the right place to make per-order moderation decisions — you see the customer's risk in context with the order's specifics (amount, items, shipping address).

The meta box is controlled by **Settings → General → Order Warnings** ("Show customer trust info on order edit screen"), which is on by default.

---

## Why Current Score, Not Score-at-Order-Time?

Both the Trust column and the meta box show the customer's current state because the most common workflow question is "should I act on this order now?" — and that depends on the customer's current state, not their historical state.

TrustLens doesn't store the score each order was placed at. For post-hoc analysis ("the customer was Trusted when they placed this order but is now Critical — what changed?"), look at the Recent activity and signals on the customer's profile.

---

## Enabling and Disabling the Column

The Trust column is always added to the orders list. WordPress's standard screen-options menu on the orders list page lets users hide it per-user if they don't want to see it:

1. Open the WooCommerce orders list
2. Click **Screen Options** in the top-right
3. Uncheck **Trust**

The setting is per-user, so different team members can have different column visibility. There's no setting that removes the column for all users.

---

## HPOS Compatibility

The Trust column works on both legacy and HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage) order tables. TrustLens declares HPOS compatibility, so WooCommerce's compatibility checks pass without modification.

If you've migrated from legacy to HPOS, the Trust column continues to work without any TrustLens-side intervention. The badge is read from the customer record (which is TrustLens-owned); the segment filter and sort use the email-hash order meta, which is stored through WooCommerce's order API on either storage.

---

## The Performance Story

Adding a custom column to the WooCommerce orders list can be a performance trap if it triggers extra queries per order. TrustLens keeps the cost small:

1. For each visible order, TrustLens hashes the billing email
2. The customer record is fetched with one indexed lookup the first time that customer appears on the page
3. The result is cached for the rest of the page render
4. Further orders from the same customer read from the in-memory cache

Net cost: at most one small indexed query per distinct customer on the page (typically 20 orders per page). Negligible.

---

## What About Orders Without a Customer Record?

When the order's billing email doesn't match any TrustLens customer record — for example an order from before Historical Sync ran — the Trust column shows a gray "New" badge. Orders with no billing email show no badge.

Customers below the minimum-orders threshold do have a record, so their orders show their current segment like everyone else's.

---

## Bulk Actions from the Orders List

TrustLens doesn't add bulk actions to the WooCommerce orders list itself — WooCommerce's bulk action surface is reserved for order-level actions (mark complete, refund, etc.). For customer-level bulk actions, use the Customers list.

However, if you want to bulk-block customers based on their order activity, the workflow is:

1. On the WooCommerce orders list, filter to the relevant order cohort (e.g. recently disputed orders)
2. Note the customers
3. Go to the TrustLens Customers list
4. Search for or filter to those customers
5. Bulk Block

## Color Reference

| Segment | Color | Quick Read |
| --- | --- | --- |
| VIP | Green | Premium order — handle carefully |
| Trusted | Blue | Reliable customer — normal processing |
| Normal | Gray | Average — normal processing |
| Caution | Yellow | Watch — review on suspicion |
| Risk | Orange | Investigate before processing |
| Critical | Red | Hold for review or block |

Same colors as elsewhere in TrustLens, so segment recognition transfers across admin contexts.
