# Dashboard Overview

The TrustLens Dashboard — also called the Command Center — is the single screen that answers "what's happening with risk in my store right now?" It surfaces trust score health, segment distribution, refund and card-testing activity, module status, the customers who need your attention, and (in Pro) chargeback-ratio monitoring and automation activity. This guide walks through every section of the page and explains what each number means.

Access: **TrustLens → Dashboard**, or click the TrustLens menu item.

## The Admin Header

Every TrustLens page — Dashboard, Customers, Chargeback Monitor, Card-Testing Defense, Automation, Settings — sits under a persistent plugin-wide admin header. It's the same UI on every page so navigation is consistent.

| Element | What It Does |
| --- | --- |
| **TrustLens logo** | Shows "Admin" or "Pro · Admin"; click to return to the Dashboard from anywhere |
| **Status pill** | Live store status — "All clear", a targeted card-testing hold, an active Panic Freeze, or "Chargeback over line" when a card-network ratio line is crossed |
| **Notifications bell** | Count of current alerts; click to open the dropdown, with a link to the notification settings |
| **⌘K command palette** | Keyboard shortcut `Cmd+K` (Mac) or `Ctrl+K` (Windows), or click the search box, to open a search palette for jumping to any feature, setting, or action |
| **Tab navigation** | Dashboard, Customers, Chargeback Monitor, Card-Testing Defense, Automation, and Settings (plus Refund Cases in Pro). On the free plan, Chargeback Monitor and Automation carry a PRO badge |
| **Account menu** | Manage license / Upgrade to Pro, documentation, and settings |

## Quick Start Card

On a new install the Dashboard opens with a **Quick start** card. It puts the three decisions that matter most right at the top so you don't have to hunt through Settings:

| Choice | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Block risky customers at checkout** | Turns on checkout blocking. Nothing is ever auto-blocked — this just lets you block specific customers; you stay in control. |
| **Email me about attacks & high-risk customers** | Turns on notifications so you get a heads-up when a card-testing attack hits or a high-risk order comes in. |
| **Import your past orders** | Links to the Historical Sync import on Settings → Data. Once customers are being scored, this row instead confirms "Your customers are being scored." |

Each toggle saves instantly with a confirmation toast. When you're set up, click **Hide** to dismiss the card — it won't come back. You can change any of these choices later in Settings.

---

## Historical Sync

Until TrustLens has any customers, the Dashboard shows a **Get Started with TrustLens** screen with a **Start Historical Sync** button and a **Skip and analyze new orders only** link. While sync runs, a progress bar shows how many orders have been processed; keep the page open, because the batches are sent from your browser (if you leave, the sync resumes the next time you open the Dashboard or Settings → Data).

Once customers exist, a **Historical Data Sync** card below the Command Center shows the sync state (Synced, Running, New orders only, or Not started) with a **Re-sync** or **Import past orders** button. You can also run sync from **Settings → Data**. Re-running is safe — it rebuilds each customer from their orders rather than adding to existing totals.

---

## Alert Band

When something needs attention, an alert band appears above the Command Center — for example "Panic Freeze Active", a targeted card-testing hold, or **"Chargeback ratio over network threshold"** when your calendar-month chargeback ratio for Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover has reached that network's line (with an **Open Monitor** button). Pro adds a "disputes need a response" alert for disputes due within 72 hours.

---

## Status Bar

The top line of the Command Center shows the threat level (Nominal, Guarded, or Elevated, linking to your high-risk customers), an "N / 8 modules active" count, an "Importing orders…" note while sync runs, and a **Panic Freeze** link to the Card-Testing Defense page.

---

## Trust Index

The first panel shows your store's overall trust health at a glance.

- **Average trust score** — the mean trust score across your scored customers, out of 100, with the number of customers it's based on
- **Segment label** — the segment your average score falls into (e.g. "Trusted" if your store-wide average is 75)
- **Trust trend · 30 days** — a chart showing whether average trust is rising, falling, or stable (it appears once there are at least two days of data)

A drop in the trend line is usually the first signal that something is changing — a new abuse pattern, a coupon being shared, or an unusual refund spike. Investigate by looking at the Priority Targets list below.

---

## Live Telemetry

Six tiles summarize recent activity — events, active customers and orders in the last 24 hours, high-risk customers in the last 7 days, your store return rate (weighted by orders) and the customer-average return rate (unweighted) — with a 24-hour events sparkline.

---

## Card-Testing Defense Panel

Shows 24-hour declines, 24-hour submissions, the decline rate (above roughly 30% usually signals an automated attack), and how many fingerprints are currently held. Pro adds a 24-hour decline-code breakdown. Click through to the Card-Testing Defense page for thresholds and Panic Freeze.

---

## Customer Segments

A stacked bar with a legend showing how many customers sit in each segment:

| Segment | Color | Score Range | What the Count Tells You |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| VIP | Green | 90–100 | Loyal high-value customers — protect from friction |
| Trusted | Teal | 70–89 | Reliable repeat buyers |
| Normal | Gray | 50–69 | Average customers and most new customers with little history |
| Caution | Yellow | 30–49 | Early warnings — watch this number rise |
| Risk | Orange | 10–29 | Likely abuse patterns — review individually |
| Critical | Red | 0–9 | Confirmed multi-module abuse — typically warrants action |

Click any segment to filter the Customers page to that segment.

**Healthy distribution:** ~80% in Normal/Trusted/VIP, ~15% Caution, ~5% Risk/Critical. Significant deviation usually means thresholds need tuning or a new attack vector has appeared.

---

## Detection Modules Panel

A status panel listing all eight detection modules — Return abuse, Order tracking, Coupon abuse, Category-aware, Linked accounts, Shipping anomalies, Chargebacks, Card-testing — each marked On or Off, with an "N / 8" active count.

This is the fastest way to verify every detector is switched on. The panel is read-only — to actually turn a module on or off, follow **Module settings** to **TrustLens → Settings → Detection** (Card-Testing Defense has its own dedicated page).

---

## Chargeback Ratio Monitor (Pro)

In Pro, this panel shows your **blended** monthly chargeback ratio (disputes ÷ card orders for the current calendar month), the ratio for each card network against its line, and a 12-month trend against the Visa line. On the free plan the panel shows an upgrade card instead — there is no free speedometer. Free stores are still warned: the alert band and the header status pill appear as soon as any network's ratio reaches its line.

Card networks (Visa VAMP, Mastercard ECP, Amex, Discover) place merchants into monitoring programs when their dispute ratio exceeds program-specific thresholds — 1.5% for Visa VAMP and Mastercard ECP, 1.0% for Amex and Discover. Crossing those thresholds triggers fees, processor scrutiny, and potential account termination. Visa's VAMP ratio also counts fraud reports that never reach WooCommerce, so treat the Visa figure as a floor.

The dedicated Pro **Chargeback Monitor** page adds per-network progress bars, a trailing-30-day window, the open-disputes deadline worklist, and Dispute Evidence Reports. See [Chargeback Ratio Speedometer](/docs/trustlens/chargeback-monitor/chargeback-ratio-speedometer/).

---

## Customers Requiring Attention

Shown in the Command Center as **Priority Targets · action required**, this is a live list of the highest-risk customers in your store right now: the top five customers in the Critical and Risk segments (allowlisted customers excluded), Critical first and then lowest score.

For each customer the list shows:

- **Rank**
- **Customer** — email (or "Guest")
- **Segment badge** (Critical / Risk)
- **Trust score**
- **Return rate**
- **Review** button

Click a row or **Review** to open the Customer Detail page, which shows the full event timeline and every individual signal contribution. **View all customers** opens the Customers list.

---

## Refund Activity Chart

Below Priority Targets, a 30-day chart shows refunded orders per day against a 7-day rolling return rate (it appears once there are refunds to show). Spikes here usually correlate with either a product issue (a defective batch causing legitimate returns) or coordinated abuse (a coupon being exploited then refunded). Open the customers involved to tell them apart.

---

## Live Activity

The seven most recent customer events — orders placed, blocks and allowlists, chargebacks opened or resolved, automation rules fired — so you can see what TrustLens is doing in real time.

---

## Top Attacker Fingerprints and Automation (Pro)

Pro adds two more panels: **Top Attacker Fingerprints** (the devices with the most declines in the last 24 hours) and **Automation** (whether the engine is running, active rules, and how many fired today, with any errors). On the free plan each shows an upgrade card.

---

## Empty State

If you've just activated the plugin and TrustLens has no customers yet, the Dashboard shows the Get Started screen instead of the Command Center:

- A health ring showing "—" and chips for orders ready to import and sync progress
- A **Get Started with TrustLens** card with three steps
- The **Start Historical Sync** button and the **Skip and analyze new orders only** link

Once sync completes (or your first new order comes in after activation), the Command Center populates automatically.

---

## Performance Notes

The Dashboard is optimized for stores with hundreds of thousands of orders:

- The high-risk list is cached for up to 5 minutes; chargeback ratios for 15 minutes and the ratio trend for 1 hour
- Those caches are invalidated automatically when relevant events fire (a customer changes segment, a dispute is recorded), so the Dashboard doesn't wait out the full cache time after a change
- The high-risk customer list uses an indexed query against `trust_score` with a small LIMIT — sub-100ms on million-row tables
- Chargeback ratio computation is done once per page load and reused across cards

If the Dashboard is slow, suspect a different cause first: a sluggish host, a conflicting plugin, or an unindexed custom query elsewhere on the page. See [Performance Tuning](/docs/trustlens/troubleshooting/performance-tuning/) for diagnostics.
