Step 3 – Discount Configuration

Step 3 of the Campaign Wizard is where you configure your discount type, value, and optional rules. This is the most detailed step, offering various discount strategies from simple percentages to advanced tiered pricing.
Choose Your Discount Type Card #
Select one of the available discount strategies:
Percentage Off (Free) #
Reduce prices by a percentage. The most common discount type.
- Value Range: 1% to 100%
- Example: 25% off $100 = $75
- Best For: General sales, simple promotions
Fixed Amount Off (Free) #
Subtract a fixed dollar amount from prices.
- Value Range: $0.01 to $10,000
- Example: $10 off any product
- Best For: Flat discounts, shipping offset promotions
Note: If the discount exceeds the product price, the product becomes free (price = $0).
Volume Discounts / Tiered Pricing (Pro) #
Offer increasing discounts based on quantity purchased.
Configuration Options:
- Apply To: Each item individually OR entire order total
- Discount Type: Percentage OR fixed amount per tier
Example Tiers:

Best For: Wholesale pricing, bulk purchase incentives, B2B stores
BOGO Deals (Free) #
Buy One Get One offers with flexible configurations.
Configuration:
- Customer Buys: Number of items at full price
- Customer Gets: Number of discounted items
- At Discount: Percentage off (100% = free)
Examples:

Best For: Clearing inventory, encouraging larger purchases, promotional campaigns
Bundle Discount (Pro) #
Apply a discount when customers add all required products in a bundle set.
Bundle Modes:
- Percentage off each item in the bundle
- Fixed amount off each item in the bundle
- Flat bundle price for the whole set
Best For: curated product sets, starter kits, cross-sell packs, and seasonal bundles.

Spend Threshold (Pro) #
Reward customers who spend above a certain amount.
Configuration:
- Discount Type: Percentage OR fixed amount off
- Multiple Tiers: Create progressive rewards
Example Thresholds:

Configure Discount Details Card #
Based on your selected discount type, you’ll see the appropriate configuration fields:
For Percentage Discount #
- Enter percentage value (1-100)
- Live preview shows example calculation
For Fixed Amount #
- Enter discount amount in your store currency
- Live preview shows example calculation
For Tiered Discounts #
- Add tiers using the “Add Tier” button
- Set minimum quantity for each tier
- Set discount value for each tier
- Tiers are automatically sorted by quantity
For BOGO #
- Set buy quantity
- Set get quantity
- Set discount percentage for “get” items
For Bundle Discounts #
- Select required bundle products
- Choose bundle discount mode
- Set the discount value or bundle price
For Spend Threshold #
- Add thresholds using the “Add Threshold” button
- Set minimum spend amount
- Set discount for reaching that threshold
Badge Display Card #
Configure campaign-level badge behavior for this campaign. Final frontend output still respects global settings in SC Discounts → Settings → Display.
Enable Badge #
Toggle to show/hide Smart Cycle Discounts badges for this campaign. If disabled, native WooCommerce/theme sale badges may still appear depending on your global overlap strategy.
Badge Text #
- Auto-generate: Automatically creates text like “20% OFF” based on your discount
- Custom Text: Enter your own text (max 50 characters)
When global phase text is enabled, auto mode can switch to Starts Soon or Ends Soon near campaign boundaries.
Template #
Choose the badge shape/style for this campaign:
- Use global default (inherits Display Settings default template)
- Default, Pill, Ribbon, Outline, Square, Circle, Tag, Dashed
Template fallback rule: campaign template first, then global default.
Badge Position #
Choose where the badge appears on product images:
- Top Left
- Top Right (default)
- Bottom Left
- Bottom Right
Badge Colors #
- Background Color: Badge background (default: red)
- Text Color: Badge text (default: white)
Live Preview #
See a real-time preview of text, template, colors, and position while you edit.
Context-Specific Visibility #
- BOGO: Badge display is context-limited (not shown on shop/archive cards).
- Spend Threshold: Badge is cart-context focused and not shown on product/shop images.
- Global toggles still apply: If global badge output is disabled for shop/product/cart contexts, this campaign badge will be hidden in that context.

Advanced rules to control how your discount operates.
Usage Limits #

While on Step 3, the sidebar shows:
- Selected discount type summary
- Discount value preview
- Active rules summary
- Badge preview (if enabled)
Validation Requirements #
To proceed to Step 4:
- Select a discount type
- Enter a valid discount value
- For tiered/threshold discounts: Add at least one tier
- For BOGO: Configure buy and get quantities
- All tier values must be valid numbers
Tips for Discount Configuration #
- Start Simple: Percentage discounts are easiest to manage
- Consider Your Margins: Use max discount caps to protect profitability
- Test on a Few Products: Create a test campaign with specific products first
- Badge Visibility: Keep badge text short for better mobile display
- Tiered Pricing: Make the jump between tiers meaningful (e.g., 10% → 20%, not 10% → 11%)
